By the way, my parenting advice would probably land you with a child like Devendra Banhart, Divine, or Molly Ringwald’s character in The Breakfast Club . Depending on my mood. Corresponding moods, respectively: 1. “Don’t worry about washing. We can have a challenge to see who can go the longest without it. Winner gets to spread out on the subway, as no one will sit next to them.” 2. “Pearls, pearls, pearls, darling!” 3. The same as #2, but for a daughter.
