Say Goodbye to Whining Complaining and Bad Attitudes in You and Your Kids
Say Goodbye to Whining Complaining and Bad Attitudes in You and Your Kids

Adding honor as a factor in raising kids …and parent-child relationships.
Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller offer a thorough program for establishing honor as a basis of family life — not just children honoring parents, but parents respecting children and children honoring each other. Even if honor seems a long way off in your household, you will find practical suggestions here to bring that goal a little closer — suggestions for kids of all ages. Honor is the biblical value that will bring about good behavior. It’s more than just changing what kids do; it’s changing the deeper issues of the heart that triggered the behavior.

5 Stars Great parenting resource
This is a great resource for parenting. Gets at the heart of the issues, not the symptoms
5 Stars Awesome advice for parents!
The title of this book caught my attention…bad attitudes in YOU and your kids. The concepts in this book will make me a better parent and a better person. I would highly recommend this book for anyone, parent or not! Awesome job to the authors!
5 Stars Wonderful Resource
The basis for the model in this book is honor–treating others as special, doing more than expected, and having a good attitude. It is very similar to Shepherding A Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp but is much easier to read. It gives practical application of the techniques and concepts. Be prepared to recognize the poor attitudes of your own. It’s challenging, but worth the effort.
5 Stars How to make honor foundational…
If parents (everyone) could fully grasp the concept of HONOR in ALL areas of life, I believe 99% of all problems would either never arise, or be quickly resolved! This book is an ‘easy read’…nothing clinical, but more like talking with a wise friend. It has clear explanations followed by practical, do-able techniques to incorporate honor…for parents first to embrace for themselves and then teach their children. This is a must read for parents, grandparents, teachers, youth leaders, club sponsors, husbands and wives…really anyone wishing to understand how to better live a life of honor. God wasn’t making a suggestion to honor father and mother…this book shows practical ways of how to develop an attitude of honor, whether or not we think honor is due someone because of his performance or our personal expectations. Just as forgiveness has nothing to do with ‘letting someone off the hook’ and everything with releasing ourselves from the curse of unforgiveness, honor has nothing to do with whether a person deserves it or no…we choose to honor because it frees us…and it works! This book guides to developing clear boundaries within which honor can flourish…like I said, a must read!!!
5 Stars Awesome book!
I’ve just started using this with our 7 year old and it’s awesome! It deals with the attitude of the heart when doing anything - from just brushing your teeth to the really big issues. Having discussions about honor really makes him stop and focus on the big picture. For example, when you just left the bathroom, did you stop to look around and make sure you didn’t leave it a mess for the next person and what one thing can you do to make it even better? There’s questions for thought at the end of each chapter that reference scripture, so it’s really cool to be able to integrate these thoughts with your child in the realm of how would Jesus want us to behave?
